COVID-19 Updates After Federal Public Health Emergency Ends

The federal public health emergency for COVID-19 expired on May 11.

To align with this transition, the university has consolidated COVID-19 information on the Campus Health COVID-19 Information and Resource Hub, where you will find the latest updates about testing options, vaccinations and what to do if you test positive.

Additionally, please note the following updates:

COVID-19 Testing

COVID-19 Services Insurance Coverage

  • The Division of Human Resources has posted information about insurance coverage for COVID-19 services under the ADOA health plans (Triple Choice Plan and the High Deductible Health Plan with HSA) and the UArizona Alternative health plan
  • Note that the COVID-19 over-the-counter test kits purchased after May 11 are no longer covered/reimbursed by those plans
  • COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are still covered when using an in-network provider or pharmacy

COVID-19 Mitigation

  • Surgical and KN95 masks will be available at no cost at entrances to buildings and in classrooms. Please note that KN95 masks still may be used after the expiration date when stored appropriately and in good condition for fit and function
  • MERV 13 air filters, HEPA filters and emission monitors remain in use

COVID-19 Dashboard Data

  • In the coming weeks, the university will discontinue COVID-19 wastewater testing, vaccine documentation uploads and positive test results tracking
  • The COVID-19 dashboard data has moved to the Campus Health website and will be updated through June 23. Afterward, historical data will remain on the site for reference

Vaccines continue to be available by appointment at Campus Health and throughout the community. As always, if you are feeling ill, stay home and, if you test positive, follow the CDC's steps to take when sick with COVID-19.
