UAHS Advisory Councils
The University of Arizona Health Sciences leadership identified four “areas of excellence” and formed campus-wide advisory councils to advance UAHS’s strategic position in these four research domains.
The four theme-based areas of excellence are:
- Health Disparities
- Population Health and Health Outcomes
- Precision Health
Each of the theme-based research advisory councils did the following:
- Evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis) in each individual research theme domain.
- Produced a white paper blueprint with action items (targeted recruitment, core facilities, training plans, marketing, etc.) specific to improving UAHS’s research/scholarly distinction and national reputation that is aligned with the SWOT evaluation.
- Provides an ongoing forum for generating new, theme-driven initiatives and collaborations and serves as an implementation arm in response to external initiatives.
