Mark Lane is responsible for building and leading an integrated UA Health Sciences communications team, and developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with institutional priorities.
Prior to his appointment at UAHS, Lane served as assistant vice president for communications at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he supervised teams responsible for communications; media and public relations; community and industry relations; institutional and employee communications; digital and social media; and video, photography, and interactive design and development.
Over the last 20 years, Lane has held communications and public relations leadership positions for some of the most influential companies and institutions in their respective sectors, including the Children’s Research Institute at UT Southwestern and the parent company of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Illinois, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
Lane graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in journalism.
