‘’Tis the Season to be Poisoned’ Display at the Arizona Health Sciences Library through Jan. 9, 2014

Nov 21, 2013

‘Twas the morning post-party, when all through the house,
No adult was stirring, not even your spouse.
The children, you thought, were asleep in their beds.
You didn’t know they had other plans in their heads.

The rest of this parody of the poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas” by Clement Moore, can be seen in “’Tis the Season to be Poisoned,” a display by the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center now through Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, in the Arizona Health Sciences Library (AHSL), Java City coffee bar area (Room 2101), 1501 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson.

Holidays can be fun but also hazardous. The free display, open to the public, features safety tips and precautions involving drinks, decorations, plants, toys, medicines, food and other items, and activities and situations, that potentially can be harmful to children, pets and adults.

The Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even during the holidays, at 1-800-222-1222. All calls are free and confidential. The center’s experts provide information about medications, drugs, stings or bites by poisonous creatures, accidental poisonings, as well as medicines and chemicals during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

A center of excellence at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center is certified by the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC).
