About Mike Fourtner
Mike Fourtner is a deckhand on the Time Bandit, one of the boats featured on Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch.

Homer, Alaska is not only where the Time Bandit calls home, but it is also where Mike grew up and lived for 25 years before getting married and moving to Washington State. He started commercial salmon fishing in Alaska during the summer at age 9. Once he graduated high school in 1998 he got a job on the Time Bandit. The years on the Time Bandit have been nothing less than exciting, bringing him everywhere from Canada to Valdez to Kodiak to Dutch Harbor to Bristol Bay and almost every port in-between.

He's seen 60' waves and 100 mph winds, extreme icing conditions and been involved in search and rescues to find fellow fisherman who have been lost at sea. Broken bones, ugly bruises and serious lack of sleep have all been a part of Mikes life while on the Time Bandit. Mike is a college graduate holding an associate’s degree as well as a volunteer firefighter at his local department in his off time from the boat. He is also a U.S. Coast Guard Certified Captain, holding his 100 Ton Masters License.

He has taken the Time Bandit as Captain for the 5 years during the summertime, but will not anymore because he has recently purchased his own commercial salmon fishing boat. He will be commercial salmon gillnetting in Bristol Bay, Alaska every summer now on his own boat, instead of captaining the Time Bandit.
