UA Steele Children’s Research Center Announces 2013-2014 Tucson Advisory Board Members

Oct 31, 2013
Advisory board chair Peggy Rowley and Steele Center director Fayez K. Ghishan, MDThe University of Arizona Steele Children’s Research Center announces its 2013-2014 advisory board members.
Leading the advisory board is new chair Peggy Rowley, who has been an active member of the Steele Center advisory board for the past eight years.
“The energy radiating from this year's advisory board is palpable,” said Rowley. “Our goal is to make the Steele Center a household name in Tucson and on the UA campus. Why should our local grocery stores, sororities and fraternities raise money for out-of-state institutions when we are doing the same life-saving research right here?”
The purpose of the Steele Center advisory board is to actively support the center through creating community awareness, providing financial assistance and participating in fundraising events.
“We want everyone to know about the UA Steele Center. Why? Because without research, we can’t cure children’s disease and illness,” said Rowley.
“I am ecstatic about our new members and can feel the revitalized energy of the entire advisory board,” said Fayez K. Ghishan, MD, director of the Steele Center. “I am confident the advisory board will play a vital role in making the Steele Center nationally recognized for the life-saving research we conduct to improve the lives of children.”
